What is Cowboy Mounted Shooting?

Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association is the Fastest Growing Equestrian Sport in the Nation. Mounted contestants compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association "C.M.S.A." has a variety of levels of competition for everyone, ranging from novice levels to the seasoned professional.

NATIONAL DAY OF THE COWBOY

July 24, 2010 - Peacemakers held a 2 stage jackpot as part of the opening act for National Day of the Cowboy in Okeechobee. The audience was very excited to watch Mounted Shooting. Deke "The Pistalero"  entertained during stage changes, Denny Chapman from the Top Shot cast and Wild West Entertainment was on hand giving the audience a play by play on mounted shooting has well as handing out product from his sponsors Mail 'n Tail, Suncoast bedding and Larsen Farms. The top winner that took home cash and prizes: Top Cowboy; Gil Dominquez and Top Cowgirl: Julie Burger. Thanks to everyone for making the day a big success.

August 14, 2010, The Florida Peacemakers where in Okeechobee, Fl holding a new shooters clinic and jackpot. We met alot of great people that gave our sport a try and did very well. We all were very excited for them, a few even stayed and joined in the jackpot, which was a lot of fun. The jackpot gave the new shooters a chance to get a match feel without the pressure. FPCMSA is very excited about getting south florida involved in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Please check back for updates when we will be back in the area, which should be soon.
